
The City of Lake Oswego is hosting its first annual Eve On The Lake. From 8pm to 2am, the event will feature endless hors d’ouvres, dancing, live music with Tom Grant and Shelley Rudolph, photo booths, surprise events during the countdown to midnight, and of course, a midnight champagne toast.
The event is being held at a seriously beautiful location right on the edge of Oswego Lake, 40 N State St, otherwise known as Stickmen Brewery and Skewery. There is a lakeside deck that can actually be used in the winter with plenty of heaters, but subject to weather. From inside there are lovely views of the water, so even if it is cold and rainy or snowy, you can still feel the beauty of the water.
Cost is $69. Proceeds from the event will go to the Red Cross for Hurricane Sandy relief efforts. So you can ring in the New Year and also support an extremely worthwhile cause.

Here is some recent data for you on the overall Portland area, as well as specific Lake Oswego/West Linn (RMLS lumps them together) activity:
According to the RMLS Market Action Report for the Portland Metro Area November, 2012. At 1,733, closed sales were 13.9% higher than November 2011 sales of 1,521.
In the first 11 months of 2012, there were 30,964 new listings, 22,726 accepted offers, and 21,546 closed sales.
The average sale price year-to-date ($273,800) rose 3.9% over the same period last year,
***AND… Total time on the market has dropped by 21.5% from 143 to 112 days.
For our Property Blotter readers, the combined area of Lake Oswego and West Linn reported:
- 520 Active Listings
- 94 New Listings
- 101 Pending Sales
- 97 Closed Sales
- An average Sale Price of $425,600.
- Average Time on the Market: 128 Days
It’s beginning to feel a lot like the holidays with a dusting of snow on the ground this morning and just 6 new listing coming on the market last week. There are buyers out there though with 10 houses that received accepted offers last week, and 12 closed sales. I would expect an increase in closed sales this week as people try to move in with time to hang the tinsel and to put up the tree.
